365 Day Devotional

Life Song Journal and Devotional

“The hero in that story was God. I put my trust in Him, and everything turned out fine. But what if it hadn’t? Some stories don’t seem to have a happy ending. I would still have been saved from sin by my admission of sin, acceptance of Christ, and His promise—the promise that I have eternal life waiting for me in heaven with Him.” Day 16

“If God speaks to us, it is because He wants to, and He has a message for us, wants to help us, or wants to reach someone near us. It is because God reconciled us to Him in the blood of Christ. This is our communion with the God of all creation. How great it is to commune with God.” Day 77

“When we focus on the details of our lives, it distracts us from trusting and having faith in God to help us with our problems, big or small. God has it. If we put our worries in His hands, He has got it.” Day 140

“But God has provided well for Barbara. He has blessed her, and when we are obedient, we may be amazed at the wonderful things He brings into our lives because of our obedience. Listen for His direction. Turn your life over to Him, and see what He will do.” Day 171

“This spiritual battle also reminds us to draw closer to God. He wants us to rely on Him for everything, yet He has given us free will to make choices. Often, we end up asking Him, “How did I end up here in this situation?” To be in God’s will is to continually communicate with Him and follow the map He has provided.” Day 180

“How can we adequately praise and worship such a God? As complex as He is to our understanding, God does not ask much of us—only to be obedient to a handful of commandments and to believe in Him unconditionally. That means to trust Him and His words. Therefore, we must strive to understand His words…” Day 264

‘Living like Jesus is what is commanded: to forgive, to love, and to give of ourselves as He did. As you renew yourself in Him daily, you are free from the death of sin.’ “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve…” Day 291

Life SONG

Some thoughts: “Forgiveness isn’t easy. Showing compassion to someone who hurt us goes against our natural desire. At times, it can even feel overwhelming, unfair, and impossible. However, showing undeserved forgiveness and compassion to someone is what mercy is, and what Jesus does for us.” (Day 254) Prayer: Abba Father, Lord Jesus, have I listened to You and to Your Holy Spirit to guide my path and decisions? Have I given You all that You deserve for the unconditional love that You have given so freely and sacrificially to me in grace and mercy? If I have not given myself to You wholly as You would like, please teach me, guide me, and protect me so that I may be in Your complete will. I praise Your Holy name and lift You higher than any other. You are my God, my all, and Savior. I pray for my children that You do these same things for them as You have done for me. Thank You. In esus’ name. Amen. (Day 365)
